L&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur Jan Van Aelst a utilis\u00e9 Diamonds pour mod\u00e9liser les effets du vent sur cette structure inhabituelle, suivre les diff\u00e9rences de d\u00e9flexion entre \u00e9tages \u00e0 chaque \u00e9tape du chantier afin de prot\u00e9ger la fa\u00e7ade en verre suspendue, et tenir compte du tassement in\u00e9gal des fondations affectant les b\u00e2timents voisins.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une structure pleine de d\u00e9fis<\/h2>\n\n<p>Le b\u00e2timent comprend un parking souterrain sur 4 \u00e9tages, un laboratoire s&rsquo;\u00e9tendant sur 2 \u00e9tages et un immeuble de bureaux de 16 niveaux pouvant accueillir 450 personnes. De bas en haut, cette structure est remplie de d\u00e9fis structurels.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p>La conception structurelle de la superstructure est la plus remarquable. Cette superstructure est con\u00e7ue comme un double noyau qui s&rsquo;\u00e9largit vers le haut. Tous les \u00e9tages sont suspendus en porte-\u00e0-faux au-dessus du noyau, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;y a pas de colonne dans les fa\u00e7ades de la tour qui puisse supporter structurellement les dalles de plancher. \u00ab\u00a0Le mod\u00e8le de calcul Diamonds 3D \u00e9tait \u00e9videmment indispensable pour estimer les effets du vent sur une telle structure de tour\u00a0\u00bb, explique Jan Van Aelst.<br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Mais ce qui rend ce projet tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cial, ce sont les exigences strictes impos\u00e9es \u00e0 la d\u00e9flexion des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de la fa\u00e7ade. Ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments en verre sont fix\u00e9s \u00e0 des colonnes en acier qui servent d&rsquo;entretoises entre les \u00e9tages. Pour \u00eatre s\u00fbrs \u00e0 100 % que la distance entre les dalles de plancher reste pratiquement constante (de sorte que la flexion des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de fa\u00e7ade soit suffisamment limit\u00e9e), nous avons accord\u00e9 beaucoup d&rsquo;attention \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence de flexion entre les dalles de plancher sup\u00e9rieures et inf\u00e9rieures. <br\/><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mod\u00e9lisation structurelle du processus de construction<\/h2>\n\n<p>Par exemple, Diamonds a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour estimer l&rsquo;influence de la qualit\u00e9 du b\u00e9ton sur la d\u00e9flexion des dalles de plancher. L&rsquo;accent a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis sur l&rsquo;\u00e9volution de cette d\u00e9flexion dans le temps, en tenant compte de la fissuration et du fluage du b\u00e9ton. Le but ultime de cet exercice \u00e9tait de fournir une assurance suffisante que les diff\u00e9rences de d\u00e9flexion entre les planchers des \u00e9tages restent toujours dans certaines limites, en particulier le long des bords o\u00f9 les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de la fa\u00e7ade sont suspendus.<\/p>\n\n<p>Selon Jan Van Aelst, \u00ab\u00a0cela nous a permis d&rsquo;utiliser ce type de mod\u00e8le pour calculer les diff\u00e9rences de d\u00e9flexion entre les planchers des \u00e9tages tout au long des \u00e9tapes successives du processus de construction\u00a0\u00bb. Si des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de fa\u00e7ade sont plac\u00e9s au niveau d&rsquo;un \u00e9tage particulier, la dalle de plancher \u00e0 ce niveau fl\u00e9chira par rapport aux \u00e9tages inf\u00e9rieurs et sup\u00e9rieurs. Cette d\u00e9formation d\u00e9pend du moment o\u00f9 les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de fa\u00e7ade sont install\u00e9s et ne peut \u00eatre estim\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re fiable qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un outil de calcul qui tient compte des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de d\u00e9formation du b\u00e9ton en fonction du temps.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ainsi, avec Diamonds, nous avons mod\u00e9lis\u00e9 non seulement la structure\u00a0\u00bb, poursuit Jan Van Aelst, \u00ab\u00a0mais aussi la mani\u00e8re dont elle est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e, y compris l&rsquo;application temporaire de charges auxiliaires compensatoires pour contr\u00f4ler les diff\u00e9rences de d\u00e9flexion\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c9tudier l&rsquo;impact sur les structures environnantes<\/h2>\n\n<p>Il va sans dire que les fondations de ce b\u00e2timent \u00e9taient \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s complexes. La premi\u00e8re pr\u00e9occupation a \u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;estimer les effets du tassement des fondations sur les structures environnantes. Pour ce faire, une \u00e9tude g\u00e9ologique a permis d&rsquo;obtenir une estimation pr\u00e9cise des tassements attendus des fondations. Dans le mod\u00e8le de calcul Diamonds 3D, un sous-sol \u00e9lastique a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9fini pour reproduire les mod\u00e8les de tassement pr\u00e9vus.<\/p>\n\n<p>Cette approche nous a permis d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer les effets et les moments qui se produisent dans les structures environnantes et qui sont dus aux diff\u00e9rences de tassement du sous-sol\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Jan Van Aelst. \u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est une approche que nous utilisons relativement souvent. Plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, Diamonds nous permet d&rsquo;ajuster tr\u00e8s rapidement les conditions limites et de d\u00e9terminer tr\u00e8s rapidement l&rsquo;influence de ces conditions limites sur la structure. C&rsquo;est particuli\u00e8rement important pour les fondations, car les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du sol comportent intrins\u00e8quement une certaine incertitude. Nous pouvons donc nous assurer que le r\u00e9sultat final offre les garanties n\u00e9cessaires, tout en tenant compte des incertitudes li\u00e9es aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du sol.
