The staircase in the FIRST office building in Rotterdam is a straight, all-steel structure roughly 5 metres in diameter and 4 metres high, with a cantilevered glass railing on one side and natural-stone-clad steps. It was built in several sections to make transport and on-site installation easier, rather than as a single piece.
